Enrolling

The Tokyo Institute of Tourism is looking for ambitious international students to study in Japan.
(1) Applicants must have completed at least 12 years of standard education, either in Japan or overseas.
(2) Applicants must meet at least one of the following requirements.


a. Have studied at a Japanese language school in Japan for at least 6 months.
b. Have received at least one year of education at a school (excluding kindergartens) stipulated in article 1 of the School Education Act.
c. Have passed level 2 (or 1) of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test.
d. Have achieved 200 points (or greater) on the Japanese language section of the Examination for Japanese University Admission.
e. Have achieved 400 points (or greater) on the Business Japanese Proficiency Test.
There are three ways to apply:
(1) enrollment through the Admissions Office, (2) enrollment by referral, and (3) enrollment through general admissions. Students enrolling through the Admissions Office are eligible for a 50,000 yen discount on the enrollment fee and a 20,000 yen discount on the application fee, and may attend classes before enrolling. Students enrolling by referral are eligible for a 10,000 yen discount on the application fee.

(2) A written Japanese examination
(3) An interview
To be eligible, students must:
(1) have completed at least 12 years of standard education, either in Japan or overseas.
(2) have a satisfactory attendance record at a Japanese language school.
(3) have a recommendation from the headmaster of a Japanese language school.
(4) Those who for reasons other than (2) and (3) above, have been approved for recommended admission at screening

○Scholarship amount: A 300,000 yen discount on course fees.
(200,000 yen in the first year, and 100,000 yen in the second year)

Application/Acceptance start dates
  • Applications through the Admissions Office will be accepted beginning   August 1st (Mon) 2011.

  • Applications for referrals and through general admissions will be accepted beginning   September 1st (Thur) 2011
